Before and After Collage

Make progress, restoration or transformation immediately understandable in one image.

Before-and-after is a story format as much as a layout. The power comes from consistency: when only the subject changes and everything else stays the same, the transformation speaks for itself.

Consistency sells the transformation

For a convincing before-and-after, shoot or crop both photos from the same distance and angle, then match the zoom in the editor. The more alike the framing, the more obvious the change becomes.

A tight, even gap and matching crops keep attention on what actually changed — the room, the skin, the fitness progress, the finished build.

  • Renovation and DIY progress
  • Fitness and skincare journeys
  • Restoration and cleaning results

Label it clearly (optional)

Many before-and-after collages work without text thanks to the left-to-right reading order. This editor does not add text overlays. Add any date labels in a separate editor, or explain the sequence in the post caption.

Keep the comparison honest and easy to follow

Use the same camera height, distance and lighting where possible. Align permanent features such as doors or shelves before comparing the changed area. Strongly different zoom levels can make a modest change look larger than it is.

Place the earlier image on the left and the later image on the right. If dates or labels are needed, prepare them in another editor or include them in the post caption. This collage editor does not have a text-overlay tool.

Questions about before and after collage

How do I line up before and after photos?

Use the same crop and zoom on both cells and align a fixed reference point — a doorway, horizon or body position — so only the change stands out.

Will my collage have a watermark?

No. Every PNG, JPEG and WebP download is clean, with no Photo To Collage branding placed on the image.

Can I make this collage on my phone?

Yes. The editor is touch-friendly and runs in mobile browsers, so you can add, reorder, crop and export photos on a phone or tablet.

Is Photo To Collage free to use?

Yes. Photo To Collage is completely free with no subscription, trial limit or hidden export fee. You can create, edit and download as many collages as you like.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The editor decodes and renders your photos inside the current browser tab. Image pixels, filenames and EXIF data are never sent to Photo To Collage.
